Miniature Poodle Personality traits and Temperament

They are skillful, agile and obedient, could be used for tracking, and even herding.
Miniature Poodles could be used as retrievers or gun dogs and are still being used for that purpose. They are good apartment dogs and should not be housed outside or kennelled. Miniature Pinscher is a very active breed, requires lot of exercise or at least a daily walk. Above all they are outgoing, active and an independent breed. They tend to run around and are very agile, and are good watch dogs.

They are also called as water retrievers as their coats are moisture-resistant, which helps their swimming. The poodles are active, intelligent and elegant dogs have an alert and intelligent expression.

This is a very good watchdog for its size, seldom becoming aggressive. Dogs may start to bark a lot without proper human to canine communication, rules to follow and limits to what they are allowed to do. Poodles are friendly with other dogs and non-canine pets.. Miniature Poodles are for experienced dog owners and no for novices.

Grooming, Haircuts and Shedding

Miniature Pinscher’s hair is short, smooth, and shiny with a tight skin and no undercoat. Common hair colour is chocolate & black or brown & black. They are considered high maintenance on. Although it is commonly believed that they do not shed this is a misconception. Poodles shed small amounts of hair. Grooming is easy, as they are smooth and short-haired, only requires little attention, like occasional brushing and shampooing. They shed very less and easy to maintain. This breed is often presented in a lion-cut or other, similarly shaven look. During cold weather care must be taken from getting chills.
